The intercommunal aquatic space “AquaChoisel” in Châteaubriant
With more than 1000 m² of pools including a paddling pool, a pit of dives up to 5m, a pentaglisse, a permanent outdoor semi-covered sports pool, an indoor pool combining learning spaces with streaming river, bubbles and other massaging jets, Aquachoisel adapts to every wish and every generation.
The new intercommunal aquatic center also has a health and wellness area where sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, massage showers and solarium enhance the quality of the services on offer.
Particular attention has also been paid, far beyond existing standards, to facilitate the accessibility of people with reduced mobility and the reception of families with children. Podo-tactile paths, transfer seats, integrated cabins combining shower and private bathrooms, sanitary dimensions and showers suitable for young children, each detail has been carefully studied to ensure an optimal reception of each one.
In the tremendous natural setting of the Choisel ponds site, the new intercommunal aqualudique area fits perfectly and develops a new range of services for the inhabitants of the Communauté de communes du Castelbriantais.

Aquatic space of Derval
The intercommunal aquatic space of Derval, opened in November 2016, combines environmental performances and wellness. On a 2 540m² area, each user can enjoy of a complete education supply of sport and leisure thanks to the pools separated in 2 thematic spaces :
– The play area with its learning and leisure pool (with water games, flowing river, hydromassage jets and seat) and the indoor/outdoor aqualudique beach, dedicated to the youngest.
– The sports area, with its 25m sports pool (5 lanes), with a mobile bottom for the organization of various activities (aquagym, aquabike, circuit training).
The wellness area, for poeple over 15 only, occupies the central part of the equipment and includes a traditional sauna with its tilting bucket shower, a hammam, 3 jets showers and a 8 seats outdoor spa, heated all year round. Some different prices are proposed depends on each to access or not the wellness area. Supervised activities by skilled professionals are organized every days for children, teenagers and adults.
