Micro-folie de Châteaubriant

 

Located in the old Chapel of the Hospital after a major restoration in 2021 as part of the national plan “Action Cœur de Ville” financially supported by the State and the Department, the 1st Micro-Folie de Loire-Atlantique is born in Châteaubriant. La Micro-Folie de Châteaubriant is a digital museum, completely free and open to all audiences, in which the masterpieces of many national and international museums are shown in very high definition, such as the Louvre, the Château de Versailles and the Orsay Museum. Free visit or with a mediator, the Digital Museum is particularly suited to artistic and cultural education courses. Educational workshops related to the collections of the Digital Museum are also offered. La Micro-Folie de Châteaubriant also hosts a virtual reality space (helmets available to the public) and offers a selection of immersive cultural content. Throughout the year, events, exhibitions and creative workshops are organized to liven up this unique place that inspires curiosity.

NEW FABLAB:

La Micro-Folie de Châteaubriant is enriching its range of activities with the arrival of a FabLab (manufacturing laboratory), offering the possibility of opening new workshops. The Micro-Folie FabLab is a digital creation laboratory open to anyone who wants to try their hand at programming for artistic creation. He is the only one on the territory of Châteaubriant. From mental design to modeling, to digital manufacturing, the FabLab allows everyone to express their imagination and creativity. Thanks to its quality machines, the creative workshops at the museum will take on a new innovative dimension. Workshops in tune with the times and current Do It Yourself practices. As part of workshops in conjunction with the Micro-Folie digital museum, participants will be able to create their own creation using the three machines that make up the FabLab.

The 3D printer allows the printing of objects in volume. Creating a 3D object becomes child’s play! The CNC/laser engraver makes it possible to learn about digital wood engraving. The Silhouette Caméo cutting plotter allows the cutting of materials such as vinyl, cardboard, kraft paper, perfect for scrapbooking!

Visit modes:

The “Free visitor” mode, the spectator can go alone, in pairs, with friends or with family.

The “Lecturer” mode, only by appointment and reserved for school groups, social centers and associations.

Creative and fun workshops will be offered to children and adults throughout the year.

Virtual reality device accessible from 10 years old WELCOME TO ALL AUDIENCES, children must be accompanied by at least one adult
